Summary
We are looking for an officer of the watch to keep bridge watches on our cruise ship, sailing seven-night Western Caribbean itineraries out of Miami with occasional Bahamas repositioning voyages. Close-quarters manoeuvring in busy Caribbean ports and ECDIS-based passage planning through reef-lined approaches are a regular part of the rotation.
An unlimited officer of the watch certificate of competency (TR or equivalent STCW CoC), a current ILO/MLC Medical Certificate and a GMDSS General Operator's Certificate are required; Advanced Fire Fighting is an advantage. We are looking for someone with at least four years of bridge watchkeeping experience, ideally including prior passenger vessel service.
Responsibilities
- Bridge watchkeeping and ECDIS passage monitoring
- Close-quarters manoeuvring support in port
- Mooring, gangway and tender operations at each port call
- Bridge equipment checks and log keeping
- Passenger safety drill support
