Explicit Consent Text
This text governs your explicit consent to sharing your SeaTalent profile with employers. Sharing happens in stages, and each stage needs an action from you: publishing your profile, applying or accepting a contact request, and accepting a placement. Nothing moves to the next stage on its own.
What you consent to
- Profile publication: your profile is published in the candidate pool under a reference code. Your name, photo and contact details are not shown.
- Disclosure upon application or accepted contact request: when you apply to a listing, or accept an employer's contact request, that employer can see your work file — certificates with their dates and document status, education, sea service including vessel names, languages, visas, city, your summary and the anonymised CV the platform generates. What an employer sees of your medical certificate is governed separately; see the medical reminder consent text and your Account page. Your identity and contact details stay closed at this stage: name, surname, phone, e-mail, WhatsApp, date of birth, photo, the files you uploaded, and your referees' names, phone numbers and e-mail addresses are not disclosed.
- Disclosure upon a confirmed placement: only when an employer offers you a placement and you accept it does your identity open — name, surname, phone, e-mail, WhatsApp, referee contact details, the certificate numbers you entered and your full CV. The employer's own contact details open to you at the same moment. Message bodies stay masked in both directions at every stage, including this one.
Health data (separate consent)
A SEPARATE explicit consent is requested for medical-certificate reminders; without it, your medical certificate dates are not processed and no reminders are sent. Other reminders are unaffected.
Withdrawal
You may withdraw at any time: withdrawing an application closes that employer's access; you can disable health reminders on the Account page, and deleting your account there ends the publication of your profile. Withdrawal does not affect the lawfulness of processing before it.
