Summary
••• is looking for a chief mate for a 300 m, 95,000 GT container vessel on a fixed Northern Europe–Far East liner service, joining and signing off directly in Hamburg for a six-month contract.
You will manage cargo planning across multiple discharge ports, supervise lashing and securing of containers on deck, and run the deck department's watch schedule alongside the master. A TR Chief Mate (Unlimited) certificate of competency and a current MLC medical certificate are required; GMDSS General Operator's Certificate is an advantage. We expect at least eight years of deck officer experience on container or general cargo vessels, including prior chief mate time.
Responsibilities
- Cargo and stowage planning across a multi-port liner rotation
- Container lashing and securing supervision
- Deck department watch and work planning
- Stability and stress calculations for each port call
- Safety and security drills, ISPS compliance
